Call For Participants - Career Focus

Intersections Media Opportunities for Youth Society (“Intersections”) is seeking participants to participate in the Intersections Career Focus Program for youth interested in pursuing a full time career in a “behind the camera” crew position in the film and television production industry. Our program will assist unemployed youth who are attending, have attended or completed post secondary education with the necessary guidance and introductions to achieve long-term attachment to the workforce. Previous film experience is not required.

Participant Eligibility:

  • 19-30 years of age;
  • Living in the Lower Mainland;
  • Have a valid Driver’s License and access to a motor vehicle;
  • Attending, attended or completed post-secondary education;
  • Unemployed and not on EI or currently involved in EI based programs;
  • Have never participated in a Service Canada employment program;
  • A Canadian citizen, or permanent resident or a protected person as defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act;
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada;
  • Legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations;
  • Looking to work in the film and television production industry;
  • Available to work in accordance with film and television production schedule demands.

Please Note - Participants must have at a minimum the following certifications prior application:

  1. WHMIS
  2. ActSafe Motion Picture Safety Awareness Workshop
